Continuing the tradition

The Brown Nurses is staffed by healthcare professionals who honour the tradition of Eileen O’Connor, Father Edward McGrath and Our Lady’s Nurses for the Poor.

Our team of registered nurses is experienced in such areas as acute medical/surgical, community nursing, mental health, substance abuse, outreach services and homeless health.

Some nurses come to us midway through their careers because they want to learn more about the challenges faced by our clients. Others are nearing the end of their careers and want to contribute their considerable skills in a more meaningful way.

Positions with the Brown Nurses become available from time to time. To be considered, you must have a minimum of two years’ post-registration experience. Owing to the nature of our work, we cannot utilise the services of volunteers.

Please contact us if you’d like to be considered. Alternatively, please email a covering letter and resume at any time. All enquiries and applications will be treated confidentially.

We can occasionally accommodate nursing or medical students, subject to client workload and staffing levels. Please contact the Director of Services to discuss placements.
